Hearing Matters Australia
Silencio Initiative - UTS Transdisciplinary at the Cutting Edge, 2024
In our fourth-year subject, Hearing Matters Australia partnered with us, presenting a series of briefs to address. Our team chose to focus on improving awareness and youth engagement.
The result was The Silencio Initiative, an immersive restaurant concept that raised awareness about hearing health and engaged young people through simulated auditory environments and a silent dining experience. By leveraging creative tools and rapid prototyping, we integrated design thinking with social advocacy, demonstrating how empathy-driven design can foster meaningful societal connections. My role involved aligning sensory and spatial design with broader community-building goals, showcasing the value of strategic thinking and creative ideation towards coming up with unique solutions to complex problems.
